Is buying a Japanese teapot necessary?

An ordinary teapot will suffice as long as it is used exclusively for brewing green tea. A Japanese teapot has a wire mesh screen that has been engineered for efficient tea infusion. It is also aesthetically pleasing to pour green tea from a Japanese teapot.
