FAQ: How many cups can I prepare from 1 bag/tin
of your teas?
Matcha
comes in 30g (1.1 ounce tins). You should use 2g
(1/2 level teaspoon) for 120 to 180cc (4 to 6 ounces)
of hot water. 15 to 20 servings per tin.
If
you purchase a Japanese Tea Ceremony Set then one
heaping spoonful from the chashaku (bamboo spoon)
for 4 to 6 ounces of water.

Gyokuro
and sencha- 1 bag is 100g (3.5 ounces).
4g (1 level teaspoon) for 120 to 240cc (4 to
8 ounces depending on how strong you like your
tea) of hot water. 25-40 cups can be made from
one bag.
Powdered
sencha- 1 tin is 80g (2.8 ounces). Use
2g (1/2 level teaspoon) for 120 to 180cc (4 to
6 ounces) of hot water. About 50 servings per
tin.
There
are 2 types of matcha- koicha and usucha. These
are chanoyu (Japanese Tea Ceremony) terms and literally
translate as "thick" and "thin" tea.
Ajirogi matcha is koicha, our less expensive Uji
Midori Matcha is usucha. You would probably use
more tea when preparing Ajirogi Matcha but it all
comes down to taste. There are no rules and you
should prepare matcha your way. It may take 2 or
3 preparation attempts to find the concentration
that is right for you.
Kanro
gyokuro is a very expensive gourmet tea and double
the amount is used when you prepare this tea. For
